Brett Goldstein thinks Roy Kent ‘will be a player forever’ (VIDEO)

Although coach Roy Kent has hit his stride, AFC Richmond captain Roy Kent still lives beneath the surface.

Actor Brett Goldstein, who plays Kent in “Ted Lasso”, in addition to writing for the show, finds it very difficult to choose between Coach Kent and Captain Kent.

“If it were up to Roy, he would have been a player forever,” Goldstein told TheWrap at the Hollywood FYC red-carpet event “Ted Lasso.” “I think if there was a magic wand and it could fix his knee, he would pick players, but I think he is very, very satisfied now as a coach. So can I have both? can?

Goldstein modestly answered a question about whether it would be difficult to see his two Apple shows — “Ted Lasso” and the recently renewed “Shrinking” — compete for Emmys this year.

“It’s so crazy — look, a) what a surprising thing if that happens, b) to even have conversations where we’re saying any of these words is crazy,” he said. “And then c) I don’t know how to process it. It’s crazy. It’s going to be wonderful for all of them and for everyone and I hope everyone is happy.”

The recent MCU addition, who will be portraying “Thor,” also apologized to Apple for wasting their time and money whenever he was paired with Phil Dunster for a scene with Jaime Tartt.

“People have been asking why the shoot was long this season. I can tell you,” Goldstein said. “It was because of me and Jamie’s scenes taking three times as long to film. That’s the terrible truth. I apologize to Apple for the money we wasted. Done but I hope you’re happy with the result. I think it was worth it. It’s just, you know, don’t put us together.

Most recently, the pair can be found jogging through Amsterdam, before Jaime struggles to teach a furious Roy how to ride a bike. The eighth episode arrives on Wednesday.

The first seven episodes of “Ted Lasso” Season 3 are now streaming on Apple TV+.
