Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin Celebrate Full House’s 35th Anniversary

Three and a half decades later, some cast members are celebrating the classic sitcom’s 35th anniversary Full room. The comedy series premiered on ABC on September 22, 1987 and was created by Jeff Franklin. It follows a widower who enlists two close friends to help raise three daughters in a San Francisco home. The show aired for eight seasons before ending in 1995, though it later returned for a five-season sequel, fuller houseon Netflix.


Looking back at the premiere episode of the original show, former child star Candace Cameron Burethat oldest kid playing DJ Tanner posted a handful Full room images to her social media accounts. She also wrote, “35 years ago my life changed for the better.”

“Today is also the 35th birthday of Full room‘ says Bure in a video posted to her Instagram stories also. She mentions that she had to miss a fundraiser for scleroderma the day before because she’s on location for her next movie, and reflects on how late co-star Bob Saget had always been in favor of that for years. Bure credits the event for raising $1.2 million for charity, something Saget would have been proud of.

Jodie Sweetin also honored Saget, who passed away in January, with her Full room anniversary message. She shared a video on her Instagram Stories of Danny Tanner giving one of his signature inspirational speeches to Stephanie. Sweetin also wrote, “Here’s to 35 years… FH,” and added the hashtag #besttvdadever.

According to John Stamos, Saget also made a spiritual appearance at Sweetin’s wedding in July. Share the story with Entertainment tonight recently, Stamos said he was in a hurry to leave the house to attend the wedding, and it wasn’t until after he left that he realized he accidentally put on one of Saget’s shirts. Stamos was shocked and felt that this was Saget’s way of letting them know he was there on his mind.

“I started crying when I realized this. I said, ‘Jodie, Bob is here,'” Stamos explained.

Fullest House could happen one day

The loss of Saget was very hard on the cast as everyone had kept in touch over the years since the show ended. While Saget could not return for a possible third series, which could be called Fullest house, other cast members are open to the idea. Sweetin said last year that it would be interesting to reprise the role of Stephanie after another 10 or 20 years, perhaps as a way to golden girls keep going Full room.
