Cheri Valentine, star of ‘Drag Race UK’ season 2, dies at 28

George Ward, aka British drag queen Cherry Valentine, has died at the age of 28.

Star’s rep confirmed the sad news about the “RuPual’s Drag Race UK” Season 2 contestant on Instagram.

“Our hearts are broken to share the devastating news of the tragic passing of our client George Ward (@thecherryvalentine),” read a post on the celebrity management and PR firm’s page. on the box talent,

“Our love and thoughts are with his parents, who issued the following statement: ‘It is with the utmost heartbreak and profound sadness to inform you that our George – Cheri Valentine – has sadly passed away.

“This will be a severe blow to most people and we understand there is no easy way to announce this,” the statement concluded.

Cheri Valentine was born in Darlington, England, in the northeast of the country, and grew up in a traveler community.

She qualified as a mental health nurse in 2015, and has worked for the UK’s NHS, helping with the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Cheri Valentine was the first queen during Season 2 of “Drag Race”. A documentary about her life – “Cherry Valentine: Gypsy Queen and Proud” – was released in the UK Ward earlier this year, also appearing on a show called “God Shave the Queens” Season 2.
