Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus historical drama film Ponniyin Selvan has the amazing cast of Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Shobhita Dhulipala, Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and many more. The film is slated to release on September 30. An epic historical drama film, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthi; the film is directed by Mani Ratnam.
The makers left no stone unturned when it came to movie promotions. During a press conference in Mumbai, the star cast spoke exclusively with Bollywood Life. They talked about an important reason to watch Ponniyin Selvan 1. Chiyaan Vikram, who plays Aditya Karikalan, said: “The film has been waiting for 70 years to be seen and it is high time we started seeing it on screen”. Trisha Krishnan said “It’s a Mani Ratnam movie”. Shobhita Dhulipala said: “It is a story of love where war is incidental and what cannot be seen”.
Karthi, who plays Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyathevan, was quick to comment: “That we’ve always watched these great movies like Harry Potter, Lord Of The Rings, which were filmed abroad. We’ve talked about it so much and we’ve always wondered why we don’t have it in india now we have it in india i think the way it is written we have something to show and be proud of to the whole world cause we have mani sir , AR Rahman and the biggest production Lyca behind it. We are proud to show this to the outside world”.

Jayam Ravi, who plays the role of Arulmozhi Varman, added: “Otherwise you will not understand PS2. If you like Ramayana and Mahabharata, you will like PS1; because it has all the culture, the best stories ever told and it has given us all.” . How excited are you to watch the movie?
