Comedian Richard Lewis reveals Parkinson’s disease diagnosis (VIDEO)

Comedian and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor Richard Lewis revealed in a social media post video on Sunday that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease two years ago.

He begins the one and a half minute video by sharing that he just wrapped season 12 of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” a few weeks ago and expressed his gratitude for being a part of such a wonderful show. “But,” he said, “the last three and a half years I’ve had a rocky time.”

For the last few years, people have been asking him when he is going to tour again with his standup comedy show. “Okay, here’s what really happened…” he said.

He further said that three and a half years ago he was in the middle of his tour when he decided that he didn’t want to be on the road anymore. “I said, ‘You know what, I’m at the top of my game. After almost 50 years, I’m going to end it.’ And I loved it. And then out of the blue, s–t hit the fan.

Lewis said that he had back surgery, shoulder surgery, shoulder replacement surgery and hip replacement surgery “back to back,” adding, “Unfortunate, but that’s life.”

“On top of all that,” he continued, two years ago he began to “waddle a bit” and “shuffle” his feet. After visiting a neurologist, who gave her a brain scan, it was discovered that she had Parkinson’s disease.

“I got it late in life, and they say you move too slowly,” Lewis said. “I just wanted you to know where he is. My standup is over, I’m just focusing on writing and acting. I have Parkinson’s disease but I’m under a doctor’s care and all is well.” Is.
