Popular comedian Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday morning. The top comedian had collapsed in August while he was training and was immediately taken to AIIMS hospital. The comedian had immediately undergone angioplasty and was put on a ventilator. The comedian-actor breathed his last after more than 40 days of fighting. His family, friends and fans were deeply concerned for him and prayed for his recovery. Raju was cremated in Delhi and his son performed the late comedian’s last rites. Sunil Pal, Ahsaan Qureshi, director Madhur Bhandarkar and more celebs attended the final rituals at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi on Thursday.
Raju’s prayer meeting will be held in Mumbai on September 25 at ISCKON JUHU. Raju’s wife is reported to be flying to Mumbai tomorrow, according to a TimesofIndia TV report. According to the report, Raju’s wife thought that since the comedian was operated from Mumbai and it was appropriate to hold the meeting in the same city. Moreover, the report states that there was a long discussion about the same in their family and it was not easy for his wife to make the journey, but they went for it. More details were released by the family of the late comedian Raju. Raju’s daughter Antara and son Ayushmaan along with their mother and other relatives were seen holding the prayer meeting.
On a professional level, Raju started his career with Bollywood films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Bombay to Goa and Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya. He even took part in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.
