The husband of former child star Dawn Lyn, best known for her role as Dodie Douglas my three sonsset one up GoFundMe Account for Lyn to cover her increasing medical expenses.

Lyn fell into a coma following surgery for a brain tumor last October. Her husband, William John Reese, narrates TMZ After being discharged from the hospital, she developed bacterial meningitis and was transferred to a facility where she continues to receive therapy on a daily basis. Reese told TMZ that insurance covered the first surgery and paid more than $2 million, but he and Lyn are responsible for the balance.

“I’m just an old soldier who loves his wife,” Reese wrote in the GoFundMe post. “I’ve never asked for money. It’s humbling to ask for money after eight months of co-payments, ambulance and special care funds,” he added.

“After eight months of hospitalization, insurance companies don’t pay anymore and it’s costing us the full $8,000 a day to keep her in the hospital,” Reese writes. “Although she has come a long way since October, she is still in isolation and is in such a delicate condition that she cannot yet be released to a less qualified care facility. If she could come home, a caregiver (not a nurse) would still cost about $5,000 a month,” he added.

Reese said Lyn’s “goal is to be healthy enough to play her role in an upcoming comedy when production begins in early 2024.”

Lyn played Dodie Douglas my three sons from 1969 to 1972. She appeared in numerous guest/recurring roles on series including Gunsmoke, Mannix, Barnaby Jones, Marcus Welby MD and last wonder woman in 1978, among others.
