‘Days Of Our Lives’ star Victoria Grace is withdrawing from the Daytime Emmys nominations after a “huge misunderstanding” about the rules

Grace received a nomination in the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series category, but was incorrectly submitted in the category.

Per the official rules for the Daytime Emmys, performers “must be no older than 18 years of age as of January 1, 2022,” which disqualified Grace from attending as her turned 21 in 2021.

“I’m honored to be nominated for a Daytime Emmy and recognized by the Academy. Unfortunately, there has been a major misunderstanding across the board regarding the rules for this year’s category,” read the statement, which Grace further shared Instagram.

Grace continued, “Obviously this comes as a surprise and I’m heartbroken, but in fairness I will rescind my nomination. I wish all nominees the best of luck. I will keep working hard to get another Daytime Emmy nomination next year!”

After Grace withdrew her nomination, only three nominees remain in the category: Cory Christopher von days of our livesEden McCoy out General Hospital and Henry Joseph Samiri The bold and the beautiful.

Grace originated the role of Wendy Shin in Peacock’s second chapter Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. Wendy is the daughter of Wei Shin and the younger sister of Li Shin, who works in IT for the pharmaceutical division of DiMera Enterprises in Alaska.

The Daytime Emmys take place on Friday, June 16, with CBS and Paramount+ airing the show.
