“Now we are planning to celebrate Diwali on the Udaariyan set itself with the unit and the team. We will have fun and plan something when we have a day off. I would also try to fly back home when we get leave. Diwali is a beautiful festival for me. I still remember how we bought new clothes in those days. That was the only time we got all the new stuff, so it was pretty exciting for all of us. I think if we have two days off, I’ll go to Mathura. I haven’t seen my parents for a long time, and I didn’t get to celebrate Diwali with them last year, so I really want to see them this year. As a child I always asked for fireworks and new clothes. I always carried a toy gun with me. Later, as I got older, I realized we shouldn’t be cracking crackers. As a result, sweets and gifts became my favorite. Diwali is the festival where all diets fail. But I always try to control my urges because it took me a long time to get in shape. But when I go to Mathura, I can’t resist my mother’s sweets.”

“This year I want to spend time with my family (my sister, brother and grandmother) and celebrate this festival of lights with them in a peaceful way. Diwali has always been a fun event! Actually, Diwali brings about a change in life every year! I remember mom was behind us cleaning everything and making rangolis too. Diwali is not just a one-day festival, it is actually quite a process. I am not going to celebrate this time in a big way this year, but it will be more like a good dinner and a happy time with my loved ones! No crackers clearly. I am here with my family in Chandigarh. My favorite memory is the first time I started playing with crackers as a kid! This is also the weirdest memory I have! I remember playing with a cracker called a pencil and I was terrified when it made a strange noise, so I yelled at my sister and accidentally dropped a spark on her hand. Well, I don’t know what diet means these days. Only when it’s over will I go back to my base.”
