Ayushmann Kurrana can breathe a sigh of relief. To be Doctor G does it slightly better than his Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, which was in a similar zone with the exact same target audience. That movie had taken a start of Rs. 3.75 crores and now Doctor G opened slightly better at Rs. $3.87 million. However, it is the track during the weekend that is a tad better, leaving people wanting even more about his latest release.
While Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui had seen an opening weekend of Rs. 14.53 million dollars, Doctor G is slightly better at Rs. $15.03 million. This was made possible after Saturday’s Rs. 5.22 crores and then grew further to Rs. $5.94 million. A better number is always a good sign, of course, although the weekend should honestly be more in the Rs. 18-20 crores zone to ensure at least an overall decent life.
So far, the film seems to be aiming for a lifespan of Rs. 30-35 crores, although an excellent Monday hold could boost his fortune. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui had a first week of Rs. 22.61 crores and then a lifetime of Rs. $28.26 million. Doctor G will have a first week of Rs. 25-26 crores and then it comes down to how much more it can collect in days.
