After the release of solo and group posters, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn unveiled the highly anticipated trailer of Drishyam 2. Starring Tabu, Shriya Saran, Akshaye Khanna and Ishita Dutta, the launch of the trailer took place on Monday 17 October in Goa, keeping in mind the central location of the film. The logline reads: “Shabdon pe nahin, drishyon pe dhyaan do. Kyunki shabdon mein, jhooth chupne ki jagah dhoond hi leta hai (Pay attention to the images, not the words. For in words a lie finds a place to hide).”
Drishyam 2 Trailer Launch: Ajay Devgn Talks About the Remake Trends; says sequel has ‘different treatment’ than Malayalam one
Consider Drishyam 2 is a remake of the Malayalam movie with the same, Ajay Devgn was asked about the current trend in the Hindi film industry of remaking movies from a different language instead of putting forward original content. Commenting on the same at the press conference in Goa on Monday, Ajay Devgn said the treatment of the film is different from the original. He also revealed that Akshaye Khanna’s character is a new addition to the story. Ajay stated, “The film has been treated in a different way. There are many changes, you will not see Akshaye’s character in the original. You will feel, this is a new film.”
Director Abhishek Pathak said they needed enough time to rewrite the story. “It took us seven months to rewrite the film. We have made many changes and kept the essence,” he said at the press conference.
In the meantime, Drishyam 2 will also feature Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta, among others. Drishyam 2 Beginning seven years after the events of the first film, Vijay tests Vijay’s determination to protect his family from whom he would cross all boundaries. This film wants to do justice to the ‘crime-thriller’ genre in every possible way.
Viacom18 Studios presents Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Panorama Studios present, Drishyam 2 produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The original score and music is by Rockstar DSP (Devi Sri Prasad). Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 18, 2022.
