Dylan McDermott on playing a biker

In the “FBI: Most Wanted” season 4 premiere, which airs Tuesday, September 20 at 10 p.m., Dylan McDermott’s character Remy Scott goes undercover as a motorcyclist in a case that ends up killing an entire family in Georgia. begins with murder.

McDermott told TheWrap that it was his idea for Scott to go undercover, but didn’t know he’d play a badass biker. “He just came down the pipeline, no pun intended,” he says of the episode titled “Iron Pipeline.” “Luckily, I ride motorbikes and motorcycles. So it was perfect. ,

And those hand tattoos? so real. “He played very well undercover as a biker, because he didn’t rub,” McDermott said, adding that he got his first tat in his 40s.

“I think we have some kickass episodes. It’s a hands-on show and we don’t disappoint,” he said of the fourth season, which stars Edwin Hodge as a new agent , who transfers to the fugitive task force after the exit of Miguel Gomez, who played Ivan Ortiz. And Roxie Sternberg’s Sheryl Barnes returns after both her and her character’s maternity leave.

wrap: I think Remy really got a kick out of going undercover.

Dylan McDermott: It was one of the things I really asked for, to see Remy go undercover several times over the course of the season to make it a character within a character. I was really pleased with it, because I think that’s something he specializes in. And he enjoys doing so. He likes to disappear into a character and go all the way with it.

When he goes undercover without backup, Barnes tells Remy that Jess has never done anything so reckless.

I think he stays a little on edge. He is a thrill seeker. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty. And you know, he’s on a mission [to stop murderers after the death of his brother.] There’s a fuel that really keeps me engaged, keeping me purposeful and unafraid in many ways. It’s been such a great source in these 11 episodes I’ve had so far.

'FBI: Most Wanted': What did Dylan McDermott add to elevate the Season 3 finale?

There are still some trust issues with Barnes.

Absolutely. and I like that. that was something i talked about too [showrunner] David Hudgins, is creating that tension. There are bumps in the road as people are getting used to and locating each other. It’s not going to happen overnight. And it’s a fun thing to play.

What’s it like to work with Edwin Hodge, who appears in the second episode?

Edwin was fantastic. I worked with his brother [Aldis Hodge] Years ago on a movie called “The Tenants” with Snoop Dogg. she is very well. What a wonderful addition. He is very smart and he is ready to do anything. He’s funny, and we’re great.

What is the relationship between Remi and her?

Remi walks a fine line because he is the leader. And at the same time, he wants to be friends with everyone, but there are some things he has to do as a boss and sometimes misbehaves with people. But that is his job. He is saving lives. And he’s been doing this longer than anyone on the team, so there he is.

'FBI: Most Wanted' adds 'Good Sam' star Edwin Hodge for season 4

But he still turns to his colleagues like Kristin Gaines (Alexa Davalos) to ask their opinion about when life is on the line.

Oh, 100%. He doesn’t know all the answers. There’s a lot of this stuff flying around. You have to make quick decisions. There are other people out there who sometimes know better than him, and he will avoid them.

What kind of changes have you brought to the series since joining last season?

Hopefully the show is more fun than ever. It’s really my main goal, for everyone to have fun on this show, because it’s a dark theme. I like to rewrite some things or come up with ad libs or things. I think it’s important to study the script back and forth, but at the same time, I like to be open in the moment, so that you can create and it’s an interesting place to live, because it’s a little dangerous. When you’re open like this, really good things happen. I’ve changed the way I work since I turned 50. I like it a little better than the way I was working before.

That’s why you and Remy both like to take chances.

I think so. At this point, we are tied together. I’m more Remy in my life than Dylan because of the number of hours I work, so he probably took over at this point. (laughs)
