Ayushmann Kurrana enjoys the success of his recently released medical drama Doctor G. Like his previous critically acclaimed outings, Anubhuti Kashyap’s directing also includes a unique story. The film hits theaters on October 14.
EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khurrana on what he misses about his hometown of Chandigarh
In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann spoke of the one thing he missed about his hometown of Chandigarh, as he currently lives in Mumbai. He said, “I think cleanliness. Traffic sense. And I think I romanticize that place, it’s beautiful.”
In the interview, Ayushmann also talked about making progressive movies with a moral. “I think I just don’t want to do anything regressive. I know, the popular palate is somewhat regressive, but I can’t change the way I think like that. So this is my USP, I will make films that are progressive, that have a moral.”
“I believe in cinema for change and the more people watch it, it should be a theatrical performance because it reaches more people,” he added, “So eventually it will come on OTT, of course, but as it enters theaters, it will reach more people, so I guess that’s my only attempt.”
Speaking of Doctor G, the film is a medical drama in which he can be seen in the role of a gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.
