As soon as the trailer of Doctor G fell, fans of Ayushmann Khurrana praised him. Although his previous two releases, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and anek, failed to create magic, Doctor G received a positive response. Prior to the release, Kurrana spoke exclusively with Bollywood Hungama about his career as he shares an interesting incident.

Interestingly, Kurrana was asked that given his track record, it becomes difficult for him to say no to projects supported and supported by big names in the industry. In his response, the actor claimed, “I remember there was a producer who once gave me a blank check and said, ‘Jitna chahe le lo, teen picture karlo humare saath. Story, script bet likhte rahenge’.”
The talented actor added: “I said, ‘Mere liye Laxmi se pehle Saraswati aati hai’. (Saraswati is more important than Laxmi). The script is very important to me.” Expanding on the same, he said, “I don’t want to do anything regressive. I know the popular palette is regressive, but I can’t change the way I think like that.”
While calling it his “USP”, Vicky Donor actor said: “I make films that are progressive. I believe in cinema for change. I have always wanted to make unconventional stories, I am lucky to get them.” He also opened up about working with debuting directors.
The Shubh Mangal Saavdhan actor said: “My whole career is based on risk.” Kurrana shared his experience of working with them, saying, “First directors are more collaborative and very open in a way. So it’s just easy and fun to work with him.”
As mentioned before, the 38-year-old actor is getting ready for his next release Doctor G. In the upcoming medical drama, he will be featured as a gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.
