Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia is known for speaking her mind fearlessly and brazenly. As the actress is currently promoting her latest short film Good morningshe spoke exclusively about her personal and professional life with Bollywood Hungama.
EXCLUSIVE: Neha Dhupia talks about playing explicit and negative roles; says “I’m not advocating violence”
In the Amazon miniTV, Dhupia plays the character of Anagha, a multitasking woman who juggles between raising her two children and a demanding job. Interestingly, in real life the actress is also a mother of two. We asked if motherhood of two children has changed her in choosing projects. In her response, the actress explained that three to four years ago she was not “mature enough to understand” that what she is doing today is the sum of what she has done over the past two decades.
The The Dana Dan the actress explained: “It was a bit of a phase where everyone was doing explicit things. You’re not going to play a negative role, [after] you get older. You’re not going to hold a gun in front of the camera, mislead your kids, or redirect them.”
Then she added, “For me, I’m doing a part. I do what is best offered to me. And to see the bigger picture, I’m not advocating violence. These are the offers, and if a great director gives me a great part, I just keep going. And, you know, that’s what I mean, like the mindset and it’s not about me.
Her short film Good morning is available in the Amazon app. Directed by Jyoti Kapur Das, it is produced by Guneet Monga’s own film studio, Sikhya Entertainment.
