Fahmaan Khan’s popularity soared after his sensational performance in Imlie. Aryan Singh Rathore was one of ITV’s characters for 2021-2022. Fahmaan Khan is from Bangalore and he is not the first in his family to become an actor. His older brother Faraaz Khan who passed away in 2021 had made a number of Hindi films. He worked in films like Mehndi, Fareb and Dulhan Banoo Main Teri. Speaking to BollywoodLife, Fahmaan Khan spoke about his late brother and how he felt Fahmaan Khan was more suited to the industry than he was.
Fahmaan Khan tells us, “Honestly, when he was working, Bollywood was too stereotypical. After playing a villain in Mehndi, he never managed to become the hero. That’s not the case these days. We have characters with shades of gray has made it a lot easier for actors. Nobody writes roles of a perfect hero and the quintessential villain. “I think this is the biggest change and I am better off in this era in the world of entertainment.” He also tells us that becoming an actor wasn’t exactly his childhood dream. He says: “When I told my brother that I want to be an actor, he said, ‘Keeda kat gaya (The bug bit you)’.
It seems that the late Faraaz Khan also felt that Fahmaan was better equipped to face the rigors of the profession. “He was introverted. I’m more of a people person. I’m also not easily influenced. I can manage to bond and keep calm when something seems to be wrong. This trait is important for survival in the showbiz. He told me it was a tough job and you have to work very hard,” said Fahmaan Khan. The Imlie actor is back from his holiday in Goa and wants to get back to work soon. “I can’t go on vacation for more than 20 days in a row,” he says.
