Twice-impeached former President Donald Trump offered peace talks between Russia and Ukraine this week, and Jimmy Fallon thinks there may be some logic behind it. On Wednesday’s show, the late-night host joked that Trump is an “expert” in foreign affairs — but probably not the political type.
Trump was an early target in Fallon’s monologue thanks to his latest antics. one in Post In his social media app Truth Social on Wednesday, he said the war between Russia and Ukraine “definitely wouldn’t have happened if I were president.” Offering his personal assistance in establishing the peace accord, he wrote: “Both sides need and want it. The whole world is at stake. I will lead the group???”
As always, Fallon had a one-liner ready—and it earned two rounds of laughter and applause from his audience.
“Yeah, Trump said ‘I’m a foreign affairs expert, I’ve had relationships with many foreigners,'” Fallon joked.
Fallon also took note of another new Trump revelation this week, courtesy of Maggie Haberman’s new book about his presidency. In an upcoming “Confidence Man” from a New York Times reporter — who has already drawn criticism from viewers for withholding information that Trump intended to refuse to leave the White House after the 2020 election — it is revealed that Trump had apparently considered sacking his daughter Ivanka and her husband. via Twitter.
