FBI Star Zico Zaki Previews Episode Where OA Is Mugged

In Tuesday night’s episode “Victim” of “FBI” Season 5, Zico Zaki’s character, Special Agent Omar Adom “Oye” Zidane, is dragged into the street but refuses to tell his colleagues about the traumatic incident. This gives him more information about a victim who was attacked by a serial killer and survived, but it also makes him more volatile when the prime suspect is cornered.

CBS has yet to announce in which episode the return of Missy Peregrym’s character, Special Agent Maggie Ball, who was sidelined by nerve damage after being exposed to sarin gas, but Zico Zaki teased that She will come “running on the ground”. and that OA might Be a little more protective when she goes back on the field.

Peregrym has been on maternity leave since the end of last season and has already shot two episodes of Season 5. Zaki said, “It is really exciting to see all of us on screen together again. There’s just some really, really cool stuff out there that I’m excited to see, but I can’t give away any spoilers. ,

Zaki spoke to TheWrap about why the OA reacts the way he does and how it will affect his character going forward:

TheWrap: What was expected of you when you first learned about this episode?

Zaki: The one note he gave me was “embarrassment”. And it was fun to dwell on that term for a while, realizing what it means and how we’re going to explore this vulnerable side of OA.

Why is it so hard for OA to tell his team about what happened to him?

I think Oye spent five years trying to build very strong walls in his personal life. In this and in everything else, he puts work first. And when it comes to traumatic events in our personal lives, [and how it] work and affects our mental health, I think we tried to show that sometimes you just can’t divulge these things. I think for him, it’s really just not wanting to show weakness in a job that requires 100% strength.

Because of his own assault, he is more sympathetic to the victims and their families than he is to suffering. case he is currently working on.

Yes, but I think at the end of the day, it makes him more sympathetic to himself. You know, the key to OA is seeing a tangible result from not putting off things that happen to you. He sees that you can solve a case by allowing yourself to sit with something bad happening: It changes their perspective when it comes to victims. It will be fun to play going forward and watch it happen on screen.

After being duped, Special Agent Omar Adom ‘Oye’ Zidane (Zico Zaki) is tougher than usual.

He spirals out of control when he encounters a suspect in a serial killer case. If you were the OA’s boss in that position, would you have removed him from the case?

I think that’s the question the OA doesn’t want answered: “Will I be dropped from the case?” That’s his safe place, that’s the case now. I think it comes down to this kind of OCD, perfectionism which is probably not a relatable character note in the workplace, but when your job is to do with life and death, we have a safe place to accept personal trauma. The place has to be made. They can’t threaten our jobs, they can’t jeopardize our family ties. They must be able to explore and accept healthily, as evil is a part of this world. If we don’t actively try to create a safe place for us to understand that evil, I think it will keep protecting us.

Do you think this incident is ultimately going to make him a better agent?

I think will have to do. I think connecting with the other side of either line will help OA, hopefully, give us more opportunity to show the impact on the people trying to protect the real world.

Nina, His partner is there now and he kicks her out, but would he have told Maggie about Mugging sooner if she was there?

i think he will have No Told Maggie to Nina quickly. Yes, he’s more comfortable with Maggie, but he might not want to show her as much weakness as he might to someone who isn’t going to be in his life for a while. The OA is trying to be Maggie’s protector. No matter how well he did in his absence. I guess the way he hides it from the rest [his team] The way he must have hidden it from Maggie, especially from the beginning. But I think he must have dug a little deeper, a little faster, but we’ll see if we get to experience things like that.

When Maggie comes back, do she and Oye have to reunite where they are? Cause they’ve both passed but there’s a lot in between,

Yes, I think at the end of the day, you can always count on our agents to be in top shape. Feeling each other out is definitely part of any reunion. But the way we do that, I think, it will be exciting to see.

I think Oy would be a little too protective of her because of what she went through,

I think it would be safe to assume so.

How was the mood on set when Missy first came back?

Oh my god, it was so good. it was very nice. She came back on the day of our premiere. It was very exciting. The baby is beautiful and she is healthy and she is looking great.
