Florence Pugh stars in official Netflix trailer

Florence Pugho prepares to help a young girl who refuses to eat in the official trailer for The miracle. The film is directed by Sebastián Lelio, responsible for projects such as: Gloria, A fantastic womanand Disobedience. The miracle will be Lelio’s first feature film since Gloria BellThe film will be released on Netflix later this year.


The miracle seems to have an interesting premise, with Pugh helping the young girl while stunned by her seemingly good health after months of fasting. The film’s official synopsis reads: “Set in The Irish Midlands in 1862, the story follows a young girl who stops eating but miraculously survives. English nurse Lib Wright is taken to a small village to 11-year-old Anna O’Donnell Tourists and pilgrims gather to witness the girl who would have been without food for months Does the village harbor a saint who “survives on manna from heaven” or are there more sinister motives working?” The brand new trailer for The miracle can be found below.

While Pugh may appear to be witnessing a miracle at first glance, The miracle will certainly become more ominous as it progresses. Tension builds in the trailer, setting the stage for the mysterious story of what’s to come. The film is based on Emma Donoghue’s novel of the same name, which won a Giller Prize and the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Historical Fiction. The miracle stars Niamh Algar, Ciarán Hinds, Tom Burke, Toby Jones, Elaine Cassidy, Dermot Crowley and David Wilmot alongside Pugh. Screenwriter Alice Birch will reunite with Pugh, which they previously collaborated on Lady MacbethPugh’s breakthrough role in 2016. The miracle arrives later this year, November 16 in select theaters and on Netflix.


Sebastián Lelio says they adapted the script to Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh is one of today’s most in-demand actresses, starring in blockbuster Marvel films and smaller projects such as don’t worry baby. When Sebastián Lelio and Alice Birch learned that the 26-year-old actress had been hired for the project, they immediately began to rethink certain aspects of the film, according to a report from IndieWire.

“Alice was very happy when Florence signed up,” explains Lelio. “She’s an actress who gives her roles a high level of interpretation. She makes you want to be on her side. You feel invited to film because of her appeal and power.” The director admits that they had to tweak aspects of the script to suit her as an actress. “We had to rethink the script in a way. The energy of the scenes was redefined by her presence.” Fans can watch Pugh take over her final role as Lib Wright when Netflix’s The miracle arrives on the streaming giant on November 16.
