The cast of 1923the next prequel series in the world of Yellowstone, continues to expand. It has now been reported (via Deadline) That Game of Thrones star Jerome Flynn has just boarded the cast. The series stars Flynn Banner as Creighton, a character described as a “hard-headed Scottish brogue and the leader of the local sheepmen.”
It was recently reported that Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Sons of Lawlessness) has also been cast in the series. Hollywood legends Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones, Star Wars) and Helen Mirren (The Queen, F9) lead the cast with other confirmed cast members, including Brandon Sklenar (Shame), Darren Mann (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Michelle Randolph (The resort), James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3), Marley Shelton (scream), Brian Geraghty (big sky), Aminah Nieves (blueberry), and Julia Schlaepfer (the politician).
1923 will focus on the Dutton family as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness, prohibition and a cattle theft epidemic, all clouded by Montana’s Great Depression. The series also touches on the end of World War I as it begins about five years later.

1923 is the latest prequel and more to come
Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone has been on Paramount Network for four seasons with season 5 premiering in November. The show has expanded with multiple spin-offs, as we saw earlier the limited series spin-off 1883which premiered in 2021 on the streaming platform Paramount+. While the show wasn’t developed with plans to explore more of this portion of the timeline, its success has led to the announcement that a Bass Reeves sequel will be given called 1883: The Story of Bass Reeves.
Meanwhile, a Yellowstone spin-off is also in active development. This one is called 6666 and while it was first announced as a Paramount+ exclusive, it’s been reported that the show will join Yellowstone on Paramount Network instead.
“Established when the Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666,” a description of the series from Paramount’s states. “The 6666, still functioning as it did two centuries earlier, encompassing an entire county, is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing to do is next… The 6666 is synonymous with the relentless pursuit to raise the best horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.”
