Grammy-winning rapper Coolio, popularly known for ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’died Wednesday at the age of 59. According to various reports, he was found dead at his friend’s home in Los Angeles.

The rapper’s longtime manager, Jarel Posey, confirmed the rapper’s death news. “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon. He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be greatly missed,” said Sheila Finegan, his manager at Trinity Artists International. in a statement to Variety. “Thank you to everyone around the world who listened to his music and to everyone who reached out regarding his passing. Please keep Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

Several industry people took to social media to mourn the loss of the artist. Born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., the rapper rose to fame in the ’90s with his 1995 song ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ in Dangerous Settings. His theme song for the TV Kenan & Kel was also very popular. It was last seen at the Riot Fest in Chicago on September 18.
