Ace photographer Avinash Gowariker was the man behind making celebrities look that much more glamorous with every shot over the years. From budding stars to actors making debuts, to veteran actors, and of course legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Avinash has literally photographed them all. Well, as veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan turns 80, Avinash Gowariker spoke exclusively with Bollywood Hungama why photographing Amitabh Bachchan was so special.

Speaking about his first shoot after the COVID-19 lockdown, Avinash Gowariker revealed it was with none other than Mr Amitabh Bachchan. Describing his experience with the shoot, the photographer adds, “Every shoot with Mr. Bachchan is very special. But this is the first shoot after the lockdown. And no surprise that the lockdown ended with a shoot for me because he was the first to shoot. And it was special because it was a very difficult time for everyone. Yes. And fear. We all had at that time, so this is a shot after a backup shot after the first lockdown.”
Speaking further about veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and why he is such a legend, Avinash continued: “He is an 18-year-old in his mind, in his body, in his demeanor, in his sincerity. In his rawness ease. He is as a 20 year old… it is impossible to put into words what that man is his stardom is just another story and having that stardom and being so today in his 80se years is unbelievable. Every time I shoot with him I’m like, how is this guy, and what is this guy, and I just feel blessed every time. And it’s crazy. Every time is a surprise!”
