Harris Faulkner’s lawsuit against Trump inside baseball

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner announced a civil lawsuit by New York Attorney General Letitia James against former President Donald Trump, calling it “inside baseball” and even potentially “political.”

Fox News broadcast the details of James’ trial for about eight minutes, detailing that he and his office would sue Trump, their adult children, and their real estate business for years of ongoing fraud.

As the attorney general’s remarks faded into the background, Faulkner very quickly summarized the situation before moving on to discussion of “The View” and criticism of Sunny Hostin by Nikki Haley.

“So the Attorney General of New York State has announced a long and detailed layout of the lawsuit that he is putting against the former President of Donald Trump,” she began.

“Some of it’s really inside baseball unless it’s your tax dollar in New York, and some might even accuse it of being political because we’re 48 days away from the midterm election, and both current and past presidents.” Definitely going to look to help candidates,” Faulkner continued. “So we’ll see how it plays out. We’re definitely going to cover it and we’ll bring you the highlights as they happen. But the big headline in all of this is the lawsuit announced by Letitia James today by the state of New York, come on. Let’s move on.”

James sought a $250 million penalty for Trump’s major financial fraud, and the success of the suit would prevent the Trump family from doing any business in New York.

“Misrepresenting the size of the apartment was only one of many ways that Mr. Trump intentionally misvalued his assets in order to increase his wealth and prompt banks to offer more favorable terms,” said James read Fox’s short segment. “Mr. Trump routinely ignored legal restrictions on development rights and marketability on properties, which would significantly reduce property values. For example, let’s take Trump Park Avenue in New York.
