Harrison Ford Says He’s Done Playing Indy After Indiana Jones 5: ‘This Is It!’

no matter how good Indiana Jones 5 maybe performing in theaters, don’t count on seeing part six. At this stage, series star Harrison Ford will be seen again for a fifth in the role of pop culture’s most popular archaeologist Indiana Jones movie directed by James Mangold. Prior to the film’s premiere next summer, it was showcased at Disney’s D23 Expo with Ford in attendance to address the fans.

While on the podium, Ford took the opportunity to confirm that he is done with the franchise after Indiana Jones 5. Playing the lead character in an action-adventure movie is no easy task, and it just gets too difficult for the 80-year-old actor. Ford is nonetheless excited for fans to see the new movie, but told everyone to keep in mind he’s done after this one. This is what he said:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“Thank you for making these movies such an incredible experience for all of us. I’m very proud to say that this one is fantastic. And [new franchise star Phoebe Waller-Bridge] is one of the reasons. Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they are also about the heart. I’m really happy that we have a real human story to tell and a movie that gives you a kick. I’m excited to be here again for maybe… No, maybe not. This is it! I won’t fall for you anymore. But thank you very much.”

We can’t blame Ford for feeling this way because Indiana Jones 5 It wasn’t exactly the easiest project he’s ever had to shoot. During filming, he injured his shoulder and had to take some time off work to recover. That followed the actor who suffered a broken leg while filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, another legacy sequel that brought back one of Ford’s most famous characters from the past. Re-visiting these franchises may have been fun for fans to watch, but right now it seems Ford wants to focus on roles that aren’t that hard on his body.
