Henry Cavill has put the cape back on for good and the actor recalls the emotional experience of finally donning the cape again after five long years.
Henry Cavill recalls Superman’s revival after five years in Black Adam – “That’s one of the pinnacle moments of my career”
Cavill recalled in a recent interview, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter, that he worked on Netflix six days a week. The Witcher when he was offered to appear in a scene in Dwayne Johnson’s DC anti-hero story Black Adam. He had to get permission from The Witcher team, but as the actor recalled, “It was so top secret we couldn’t tell them what.”
For the appearance in Black Adamthe actor recalled choosing the costume he wore in 2013 Man of Steel, his first appearance as the mighty Superman. “I chose that one in particular because of the nostalgia that comes with the suit,” Cavill said during the talk, which was a live recording of Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast. It was incredibly important for me to stand there and enjoy that moment.”
“That’s one of the highlights of my career. It feels great to have the chance to wear it again,” he added. “The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now. I’ve never given up hope. There’s such a bright future for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with a hugely happy Superman.”
Recently, Cavill took to social media to announce his return as the Superman, saying: “I wanted to make it official: I’m back as Superman… Thanks for your support and thank you for your patience. I promise you it will be rewarded become.” Cavill is currently starring in the Netflix series The witch.
He’s also gearing up for Netflix’s sequel Enola Holmes reprises his role of famed detective Sherlock Holmes, Milli Bobby Brown’s older brother Enola Holmes. The mysterious crime film will not be released on Netflix until November 4.
