The much talked about, highly anticipated and hugely promoted Laal Singh Chaddha, the protagonist of Aamir Khan, was finally released on Thursday 11th August. Touted as one of the biggest backers of the year, the film also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan opened on a modest note at the domestic box office. In the overseas markets, however, the film dominates.

In this box office report, we look at Laal Singh Chaddha’s overseas collections, dividing them into territorial collections. It’s no surprise that the overseas territory of North America tops the list of collections at Rs. 18.73 cr. Second and third as the highest overseas-grossing territories are the United Kingdom and Australia, where the film’s Rs. 5.79 cr. and Rs. 5.64 cr. respectively.

Looking ahead, looking at the positive response Laal Singh Chaddha has received in the overseas markets, trade forecasts predict that the film business will certainly continue to grow.
