House of the Dragon season finale trailer teases Epic Showdown

The “House of the Dragon” season finale airs next week, and the Episode 10 trailer promises the most spectacular show yet for the series.

The season’s final episode sees Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke) maneuvering her son Aegon as the rightful heir to the throne in the wake of King Viserys’ death after misunderstanding Viserys’ dying words. Rainera (Emma d’Arcy) was completely absent from the episode, but we see in the episode 10 trailer that she learns very quickly that her claim is being usurped.

“The greens are coming for you Rainera. And for your kids,” Rainis (Eve Best) is seen telling Rainera (so many r names!). We see Rainera and Damon (Matt Smith) prepare their next move at Dragonstone, and Rainera’s first-born son willingly makes the trek to King’s Landing to strike.

Looks like the Red Keep is under attack, which would be a smart move. The Red Keep is of course the castle that houses Alicent and Aegon and their entire families, but also their dragons, and if Rainera can take away Alicent’s children’s dragons, she’ll have the upper hand. If you look at other things, then this season’s finale will be very of dragons.

“House of the Dragon” has already been renewed for a second season, so there’s no reason to worry about it hanging around long after the finale. Series co-creator Ryan Condall is making a solo appearance for Season 2, with “Game of Thrones” filmmaker Alan Taylor joining production as director and executive producer following the exit of Miguel Sapochnik.

Kondall previously told TheWrap that “House of the Dragon” is a shorter story than “Game of Thrones,” which is all told and likely won’t last until the major series runs out.

“This particular story, which I’m telling now, Dancing of the Dragons, as the original series, doesn’t have that much breadth,” Kondall said. “Not to say it’s less interesting. Really great series. But I think part of making a series is knowing when to unveil and end.”

That said, Condall teased that there is a rich Targaryen history to be mined before and after the events of “House of the Dragon” that could be continued in another HBO series.

“But I’ve always said the show is called ‘House of the Dragons.’ It’s not called ‘The Dance of the Dragons.’ And I think there’s a very rich Targaryen dynasty of 300 years, many of which There are stories, and that’s the thing that I think is most promising for the future for Westeros fans is George [R.R. Martin] Some deeply complicated history is written. It is three centuries long that begins with the Conquest of Aegon – in fact it begins before the Conquest of Aegon, with the story of the Targaryens abandoning old Valeria because of a little girl’s dream. There are a lot of stories out there to be mined. I think as long as there is an interested audience, there are a lot of Targaryens to come. ,

The “House of the Dragon” Season 1 finale airs on HBO and airs October 23 on HBO Max.
