Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022: Suriya, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and others bag nominations for IIFM 2022 : Bollywood News

Melbourne’s Indian Film Festival is one of the most popular international Indian film festivals outside the country and has just announced its nominations for its annual awards ceremony. The 13th edition, which kicks off this month from August 12-20, will be held in class and will also feature special virtual programming for the Australian audience from August 13-30. This year, more than 100 films in 23 languages ​​will be screened at the film festival and Awards night will take place on August 14 in Melbourne.

The awards recognize the best in cinematic talent from across the Indian subcontinent in feature film formats and will also honor the critically acclaimed OTT series released between August 2021 and April 2022. The Best Picture nominations feature some of the best Indian cinema, including ’83, Bath shark Do, Gangubai Kathiawadic, Jai Bhim, Minnal Muralic, Sardar Udham among other things.

The Best Actor (Male) includes some big names from the Bollywood and Southern industry such as Rajkummar Rao, Ranveer Singh, Suriya, Tovino Thomas, Vicky Kaushal, Abhishek Bachchan (dasvic). The female actor nomination is also an impressive list with names like Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Deepika Padukone, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vidya Balan and others making it onto the list.

Kabir Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shoojit Sircar are some of the names that were part of the Best Directors nominations while Madhuri Dixit and Raveena Tandon were also included for their performances in the OTT series, The Fame Game and Aranyak respectively.

The jury panel of IFFM 2022 includes members including worldwide award-winning film editor Jill Bilcock, one of the famous Australian actors Vince Colosimo, multi-award-winning director Geoffrey Wright and multi-award-winning filmmaker Nadia Tass. Hosted by the Victorian Government, the IIFM Festival is an annual festival taking place in Melbourne, Australia, showcasing the best films from India and the subcontinent. The IFFM 2022 is making its comeback with its physical version of the festival, after it was only virtual for the past two years.
