Intense look of the Apple TV+ thriller series

A high-stakes special ops mission — complete with covert raids, fiery explosions and an intense game of international political chess — is the theme of Apple TV+’s “Echo 3,” the Academy Award-winning upcoming action-thriller series. Producer Mark Boal (“The Hurt Locker,” “Zero Dark Thirty”) and Joe premiered its first trailer on Tuesday.

The 10-episode show stars Luke Evans (who was cast in Dan Levy’s directorial debut “Good Greif”), Michelle Huisman (“The Flight Attendant”) and Jessica Ann Collins (Netflix’s “Clickbait”).

Set in South America with English and Spanish dialogue, “Echo 3” follows a brilliant young scientist Amber Chesborough (Collins), the emotional heart of a small American family. When Amber goes missing on the Colombia-Venezuela border, her brother, Bambi (Evans), and her husband, Prince (Huisman) – two men with deep military experience and complicated pasts – struggle to find her in a layered personal drama. set against the explosive backdrop of a secret war.

At one point in the trailer, Amber is asked to “not fantasize about defending” Martina Gusman’s Violet — a prominent political columnist — to which she replies, “You don’t know my family.”

“Echo 3” also stars James Udom, Maria Del Rosario, Alejandro Firth, Juan Pablo Raba and special guest star, Bradley Whitford. The series is based on the award-winning Israeli show “When Heroes Fly”, starring “The Boys” actor Tomar Capone, which was created by Omri Givone and inspired by the eponymous novel by Amir Gutfreund.

‘Echo 3′ is produced by Keshet Studio (the same studio behind the original). Boal serves as a director and executive producer with Keshet Studios’ Peter Traugott, Jason Horwich, Eaton Mansouri, Jonathan Dovec, Mark Sorian, Avi Neer, Alon Schtruzman, Kearney Ziv and Givone. Pablo Trapero directed four episodes, including the pilot, and served as an executive producer.

“Echo 3” will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, November 23 with the first three episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday.
