The first image of Season 2 has been released to hold fans until the arrival of the trailer.
Our first look at the highly anticipated second season of Invincible has arrived. All month long Prime Video is teasing a big update about it Invincible, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original comic book. The show is on Thursday official handle on Twitter shared a new image revealing our first sneak peek of the new Season 2 episodes. The post also appears to tease that the trailer release is imminent, hinting that something big is coming on Friday.
The image reveals a Burger Mart encounter between Mark Grayson, aka Invincible (Steven Yeun) and Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen). What exactly the two are discussing remains to be seen. The characters ended things in the Season 1 finale by talking about what was to come. If it’s a trailer that drops on Friday, maybe we’ll see more of this alliance, along with a preview of the other storylines to be explored in the show’s second season.
Based on the comic book created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Invincible follows a teen with burgeoning superpowers who hopes to become one of the planet’s greatest heroes, following in the footsteps of his powerful father, Omni-Man (JK Simmons). Trouble ensues when he learns the true nature of his heritage and how his desires clash wildly with what his father really has in mind for the planet.
The show’s voice cast also includes Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, Walton Goggins, Chris Diamantopoulos, Zachary Quinto, Ross Marquand, Jason Mantzoukas, Malese Jow, Gray Griffin, Khary Payton, Kevin Michael Richardson, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, and Clancy Brown.
Invincible finally returns
Prime Video originally premiered Invincible in 2021 and concluded its first season in April of that year. The show was renewed for another two seasons soon after and it has been waiting for the fans ever since. The pandemic combined with the time it takes animators to develop 40-minute episodes contributed to the delay, but with so many teases being dropped, we seem to be getting pretty close to Season 2. Let’s hope a premiere date is released along with that trailer.
Invincible Season 2 hasn’t yet set a premiere date on Prime Video, but that could potentially be revealed with the new trailer coming out on Friday, January 20.
