About a year ago, Jacqueline Fernandez was accused of being complicit in defrauding Sukesh Chandrashekhar in his illegal activities, including money laundering and extortion. After the Department of Enforcement (ED) found evidence that money was lent to the actress, they investigated her involvement in the case. Recent reports suggest that there has been a huge development in the case with the actress being named as one of the suspects in the charges filed by ED.

According to current reports, the Enforcement Directorate has filed an additional charge form with the Delhi court after a thorough investigation. According to the ED, the ED claimed that her name was added in the suspect after following the money trail. In their previous statements, the ED had alleged that Sukesh Chandrashekhar had lent a lump sum to Jacqueline Fernandez and her family.
A total of ₹5.70 crores in gifts, along with a horse worth ₹52 lacs and a Persian cat worth ₹9 lacs were given to Jacqueline from the extortion money, according to ED’s statement. In addition, it also stated that Sukesh Chandrashekhar also lent gifts and money to Jacqueline’s family.
The former statement also claimed that these gifts were not offered by Sukesh himself, but by his criminal associate Pinky Irani, who was also a friend of Jacqueline. On the other hand, while confirming her association with Pinky, the actress had previously maintained in her statements to the ED that she was unaware of the criminal activities of both Sukesh and Pinky Irani.
For the uninitiated, Sukesh Chandrashekar was arrested after defrauding ₹200 crores from Aditi Singh, wife of former Ranbaxy owner Shivinder Singh. On the other hand, Jacqueline Fernandez is a popular Bollywood actress, who was last seen in a special appearance in the multilingual movie Kichcha Sudeepa. Vikrant Rona.
