After a wait of 13 long years, Avatar: The Way Of Water (Avatar 2) has finally hit the marquee. The movie was supposed to come out a little sooner, but the pandemic delayed it for a few years. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the original Avatar is an emotion for many. The cinematic masterpiece that transported us to the imaginary land of Pandora gave us images that stayed in our minds long after we left the theaters. Avatar: The Way Of Water was made on a budget of $350 million. According to estimates, it would need to bring in more than two billion dollars to be certified as a truly profitable business. This time we are transported from the forests of Pandora to the mighty seas of the earthy plant. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Ney’tiri (Zoe Saldana) are parents of four who live a blissful family life until the humans return to invade Pandora. We’re sure millions will be watching Avatar: The Way Of Water, because it’s a movie you just can’t miss. But here’s our review to prepare you a bit. What is it about?
Jake Sully and Ney’tiri happily raise four children in Pandora. The film focuses on the different temperaments of their children, especially Loak (Britain Dalton), who is the rebel. The bliss is short-lived as the sky people return. This time the US Marines have come in the form of avatars with their strengths and skills. Sully and his family take refuge with the Metkayina clan. They live by the sea in harmony with the aquatic universe. But Colonel Quatrich and his men are ruthless. Will Jake Sully manage to save his family and the Na’Vi land from an invasion? What’s hot…
Image, image and more image. The most exciting thing about Avatar: The Way Of Water is the imagination of James Cameron and his team who brought it to life. The 3D effects are a joy to watch. If you loved the fairytale atmosphere of Pandora, then the underwater seas of Metkayina together are something else. Sometimes you feel like you’re in the middle of the wondrous creatures, including a giant version of what looks like a hammerhead shark. Speaking of characters, the movie belongs more to Loak than Jake Sully. As a rebel, he brings the right amount of emotion. His friendship with Payakan, a rogue tulkun, is one of the film’s greatest highlights. Stephen Lang as Colonel Quatrich is the perfect villain. Kate Winslet is seen as Ronal, while Cliff is Curtis Tonowari, the leaders of Metkayina. The action at the end is truly spectacular. From the boat chasing the tulkun to the kidnapping and underwater hand-to-hand combat, you’re glued to every second. The cinematography is of a high level.

What not…
The biggest disappointment is the story. Well, even Avatar didn’t have much of a plot, but the drama was intact. There are hardly any lofty moments here, except for a few towards the end. The dialogues are also very superficial and do not arouse any emotion. Some scenes between the adolescents of Forest and Sea People are quite funny. It’s hard to imagine the movie having five writers. At over three hours, some may find it too long, but the visuals make up for it.

BL verdict
Avatar: The Way Of Water lets you salute James Cameron and his vision. You’ll want to bow to the tech and digital team that makes such great movies. Those looking for a story might be a little disappointed. But Avatar 2 is modern filmmaking at its best and should not be missed on the big screen.
