James Corden explains the hilarious link between corn and James Bond (VIDEO)

One of the strangest news stories this week was about a corn maze built in Illinois to pay tribute to the 60th anniversary of the “James Bond” franchise. Yes, strange, isn’t it? But on Thursday’s “The Late Late Show,” James Corden had a really funny explanation for it, courtesy of the (perfectly made up) long link between Bond and Korn.

So for more details, go hereBut long story short, a farm outside Chicago, which claims to have the world’s largest corn maze, has decided, for this year, to create an homage to the “James Bond” movies that featured various “Bond” Very excellent entertainment of actors included. Now to be clear, these amusements are only visible from the air – this is a corn maze. Which makes it even more impressive.

But of course you must be thinking, “Why?” So was Corden during his nightly breakdown of the news.

“It’s as good as it is weird,” Corden declared after showing him a photo of Maze. “A corn maze in Spring Grove, Illinois. What a perfect way to celebrate a fictional British spy.”

“Imagine, ‘What are you working on? Corden said, imitating someone talking on the phone. “‘You’re not gonna believe it. Right now, uh, I’m actually in Illinois.’ ‘What are you doing?’ ‘You won’t believe it. We’re building a maze to celebrate James Bond. Yes.'”

“‘I’ve got these incredible new scissors,'” Corden continued, lying. “‘Which I have splendidly cut off Sean Connery’s nose.”

“A corn maze really means a lot, if you understand the ‘Bond’ franchise’s long relationship with corn,” Corden continued. He then cited 3 images of Daniel Craig, Roger Moore and Sean Connery to prove it. We’ll pop them down here right now, in case you can’t watch the video, which, incidentally, has just been embedded at the top of the page.
