Jamie Lee Curtis’ character may have been annoyed at being called old in “Freaky Friday” before, but now? She wants to be the “old grandma who changes places” in the “Freaky Friday” sequel. Apparently, she’s already written to Disney about it.
Curtis first got fans’ hopes up last week, when she said she would “absolutely” have another “Freaky Friday” with Lindsay Lohan if the opportunity presented itself. But on Monday’s episode of “The View,” Curtis revealed that she’s trying to make that opportunity herself. When host Sarah Haines pressed the actress on her original answer and gave her the floor to “pitch to Disney” if she wanted to, Curtis admitted she already had.
“I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney,” Curtis revealed. “I’m in his new ‘Haunted Mansion’ movie, so I’m back -“
Presumably, Curtis was saying that she was back in the Disney family, which makes it easier for her to pitch such things. It’s impossible to know for sure though, as host Sunny Hostin cut her down and worried that “The Haunted Mansion” would also be as scary as her latest film, “Halloween Ends.”
After poke fun at Sunny for a bit, Curtis was back on track, and went into what she wanted to see in a sequel. “Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old granny who turns places,” she said. When host Ana Navarro jumped in to inform Curtis that she would be a “sexy grandma,” Curtis insisted.
“Then Lindsay becomes the sexy grandma who is still happy with Mark Harmon, the way you would be happy with Mark Harmon,” he joked, asking Harmon’s real-life wife to clarify that she Doesn’t mean any disrespect.
Curtis concluded, “And that’s it, I want to see Lindsay the hottest grandma, and I want to try and deal with the kids I’m having today.” “I want to be a helicopter parent as an old lady in today’s world.”
The actress said that, at least creatively speaking, she is “wide open”. Disney just has to call.
