Jamie Lee Curtis Teases New Threat To Laurie Strode As Halloween Ends

44 years after the world was introduced to one of cinema’s most terrifying horror villains, Michael Myers and Laurie Strode face each other for the last time in the upcoming Halloween ends.

While previous episodes have followed a pattern of intense confrontations between a constantly vigilant Strode and supernaturally strong Myers, Jamie Lee Curtis says the conclusion is nothing like what fans have seen of the franchise before.

Curtis, who portrays the iconic “last girl” Strode in several Halloween episodes, teased that her character has finally moved on from Myers’ reign of terror – leaving her vulnerable when he returns home.

“It’s a movie about a final reckoning… between Laurie and Michael. There’s a battle between them, and the irony is that the 2018 and 2021 movies were about a woman who was prepared for Michael,” the actress told. Bloody Disgusting in a recent interview.

“Every day of her life, since she was 17 years old. This is a movie where she really moved on. Laurie doesn’t see Michael coming.”

Strode faces a different threat this time

Curtis says Strode’s vigilance and preoccupation with another character leads to a “very different outcome” when The Shape returns.

“The fight with Michael is much more violent, unexpected, and it has to be like a street fight. This movie…this other character comes in that she’s worried about, but she doesn’t think about Michael. And then Michael comes back. And so the fight was an unexpected fight.”

Though Michael Myers has lurked ominously in the shadows — both literally and figuratively — of Laurie Strode’s entire life, something more horrifying has taken him out of her mind.

“The opening of this movie is every parent’s worst nightmare. This is a babysitter with a kid on Halloween night that goes horribly wrong,” Curtis said of the opening scene, which is reminiscent of the 1978 classic that started it all.

“It’s so insanely intense,” she added.
