Jared Leto has arrived at the 2023 Met Gala, and this outfit is definitely serving up kibbles and bits of reality.
Before scratching the surface of the red carpet for this year’s Met Ball Leto kept her costume head in what appeared to be a blue-eyed, all-white cat. The theme of the evening honors the late and fashionably great Karl Lagerfeld, his contributions to the fashion industry, as well as the opening of The Costume Institute’s new spring exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
And what better way to pay homage to Lagerfeld than by showing up as the fashion designer’s adorably furry companion, Choupette.
Leto wasn’t the only cat to appear purring on the carpet. The rapper and songwriter came dressed in silver, gem-studded clothing complete with kitty ears, sharp claws and a prosthetic cat face to seal the Doja Cat fit.
Meta Ball began on Monday nights at 6:30 pm EST, with Vogue hosting the event for the third time in a row. La La Anthony, Derek Blasberg and Cho Fineman are serving as the livestream hosts. Emma Chamberlain returns as Vogue’s Special Correspondent. The ceremony was organized at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
