The Scooby-Doo cartoon character Velma has now been identified as a lesbian. In clips from the latest Scooby Doo movie, Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!, the slippery-eyed character becomes speechless after meeting a female character. The video went viral on Twitter, confirming long-held suspicions of the “Scooby” fandom.

Speaking of the clip of a new Halloween special, Velma meets a famous costume designer, Coco Diablo. For the inexperienced, Coco is responsible for a number of villains the gang has unmasked. In the viral video, instead of her usual confident composure, Velma is suddenly speechless as she checks off a list of admirable qualities, such as “obviously brilliant” and “loves animals!”

Earlier in 2020, filmmaker James Gunn revealed that he had tried to make the favorite character gay, but ended up getting shot. Meanwhile, during Pride Month in 2020, Scooby Doo! Mystery included producer Tony Cervone seemingly confirmed Velma’s sexuality in an Instagram post.
In the post, Velma was seen in front of a rainbow backdrop along with Marcie. In the caption, Tony wrote: “Of course I don’t represent every version of Velma Dinkley, but I’m one of the most important people representing this version. Ten years ago we made our intentions as clear as possible. Most of our fans got it. For those who didn’t, I suggest you take a closer look. There’s no new news here.”
Coming back to Trick or Treat Scooby-Doois the animated film written by Daniel McClellan, Laura Pollack and Audie Harrison.
