Jiya Shankar is not only starring in the ongoing Colors show Pishachini, but she will soon be seen as the lead actress in a movie. She will be seen as the lead role in the film ved, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza. Although she is happy with interesting projects, she recently spoke about what inspired her to become an actor.

Jiya Shankar credits her mother and calls her the driving force behind entering the acting industry

Jiya Shankar said about it: “What inspired me to become an actor is my mother and her constant motivation. I was really shy as a child and to become an actor is a very big achievement in itself, for me people refer to me as a of the good actors we have in the industry is a really big compliment to me because I’ve worked really hard to make this happen. And now I’m an inspiration to myself.”

But just like any other artist, Jiya gave her all and then she realized her true calling for it and it also made her realize how much passion she has for it. “While my mother pushed me to act and pursue this as my career, what connected me to acting was when I found a passion for it and connected every part of being an actor with my life, past and experiences. That’s how I discovered the love for acting and I love portraying the emotions on screen. It challenges me. It makes me dream.” she concluded.

Her ongoing show features her as the strong girl Pavithra who is all set to fight against the Pishachini played by Nyrra M Banerji for the love of her life, Rocky tried by Harsh Rajput. The show airs on Colors at 10 p.m.
