John Bradley explains his eavesdropping in Railway Children Clip

Inspired by the 1970s British family drama of the same name, Railway children follows Lily (Beau Gadsdon), Pattie (Eden Hamilton) and Ted (Zac Cudby) as their mother evacuates them from a perilous life in Salford to settle in the Yorkshire village of Oakworth with Bobbie Waterbury (Jenny Agutter), her daughter Annie (Sheridan) Smith), and grandson Thomas (Austin Haynes). The kids soon discover a wounded American soldier (KJ Aikens) in the Oakworth Station rail yard and go to great lengths to help him.


Railway children is directed by BAFTA-winning Morgan Matthews and written by BAFTA-winning Danny Brocklehurst. It recently saw a successful release in the UK and won’t be available in theaters in the US until September 23, 2022.

Agutter’s role as Bobbie Waterbury is in retaliation for her, as she played the same in the original film. “The script has a slight touch where those references are if you know the original, but it’s not necessarily a requirement to get anything out of this movie. We hope it will get people to go back and re-watch the original , but this one looks perfect as a movie,” Agutter said in an interview with Yahoo Life. “We’ve tried to make it a tribute, but we’ve also tried to update it to make it relevant for 2022,” added Bradley.
