Cheryl Dolins has been tapped as the new senior vice president of comedy programming and development at Fox Entertainment, replacing Julia Franz, who held the position for three years.
The executive reshuffle has been in the works for some time and is not related to the sudden departure of Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier last week from Roku. Franz would remain at the company in a network and studio creative capacity as a consultant for the comedies “Animal Control” and “Welcome to Flech”, as well as prior raps production until the following spring.
Based in Los Angeles and reporting to President Michael Thorne, Dolins will be responsible for overseeing development and production of the company’s growing comedy slate, including the upcoming single-cam “Animal Control”, Fox’s first wholly owned live-action comedy. includes; “Welcome to Flech” from executive producers Jenny Bix and Paul Feig and the multi-cam comedy “Call Me Cat”, starring and executive produced by Mayim Bialik.
