Julia Garner Wins Third Emmy For Ozark’s Final Season

Julia Garner won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards.


Write down another Emmy win for Julia Garner. At the Primetime Emmy Awards, Garner was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her critically acclaimed role as Ruth Langmore in the final season of the Netflix series. Ozark. She managed to take home the win, earning her third Emmy for the series, but as Garner later explained, she was pleasantly surprised by this year’s win.


“I honestly didn’t expect it this year,” Garner said, per Variety. “I feel so grateful, and then I went on stage and I blacked out and there were so many people I forgot to thank… I’m very grateful, but yeah, it’s an out-of-body experience.”

There had been some tough competition for Garner in that category. The other nominees were Patricia Arquette for Apple TV+s severance pay as Harmony Cobel; HoYeon Jung for Netflix’s squid game as Kang Sae-byeok; Christina Ricci for Showtime’s Yellow jackets as Misty Quigley; Rhea Seehorn for AMCs You better call Saul as Kim Wexler; J. Smith-Cameron for HBOs succession as Gerri Kellman; Sarah Snook for HBOs succession as Shiv Roy; and Sydney Sweeney for HBOs Euphoria as Cassie Howard.

It wasn’t Garner’s only nomination at the Emmys. She was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for her role as Anna Delvey in the Netflix series invent Anna. That award was won by Amanda Seyfried for her role as Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s the outage. The other nominees were Toni Collette for HBO’s The stairs as Kathleen Peterson; Lily James for Hulus Pam & Tommy as Pamela Anderson; Sarah Paulson for FXs Accusation: American Crime Story as Linda Tripp; and Margarey Qualley for Netflix’s Domestic help as Alex Russell.

Could an Oscar be next for Julia Garner?

Ozark may be over, but we’ll be seeing a lot of Julia Garner in the future. After impressing in Ozark and invent Anna on Netflix, Garner lined up the coveted role of Madonna in an upcoming biopic about the famous singer. Musician biopics sometimes make a big splash during awards season, so maybe we could see the Madonna movie starring Garner doing the same?

Garner is also attached to star in the upcoming horror movie Apartment 7A. Just because of her involvement, many fans are interested in watching the film when it comes out. Rumor has it that the film is a prequel to rosemary baby. It is not yet clear when the film will be released.
