The Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard has exclusively revealed that the actress was paid “so much less” than her co-star Chris Pratt for the film franchise than the reports initially indicated during the film’s release.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress, who starred opposite Chris Pratt in the trilogy that ended this summer with Jurassic World Dominion, disputed a 2018 report saying she got $2 million less than Pratt Fallen Kingdom (2018), stating that her pay was “so much less” than what was publicly shown.
However, she praised Pratt for ensuring that she received equal pay for franchise opportunities such as video games and theme park attractions. “The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less,” Howard said in an interview. “When I started negotiating for Jurassic, it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a big disadvantage. And unfortunately you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are done.”
Although Howard did not specify what she was paid, the initial report suggested her compensation was $8 million, compared to Pratt’s $10 million. The actress said she and Pratt discussed the pay gap openly, and he promised to make it right. “What I’ll say is that Chris and I discussed it, and whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on things that hadn’t been negotiated before, like a game or a ride, he literally said to me, ‘You don’t have to. I’m going to do all the bargaining.’”
“We get paid the same, and you don’t have to think about this, Bryce,” continued Howard of Pratt, who joined the Jurassic franchise after already starring in Marvel’s blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. “I love him so much because he did that. Really, because I got paid more for that sort of thing than I ever did for the movie.”
Jurassic World franchise has proved to be a huge hit for Universal Pictures. As the report notes, Howard reprized her character, Claire Dearing, for voiceovers in video games, attractions and series such as Lego Jurassic World, Lego Dimensions, Lego Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape, Jurassic World Evolution, Jurassic World: The Ride and Jurassic World Evolution 2.
