”Just do the job. Don’t identify yourself.”

While the possibility of the fifth-season ending after executive producer Georgia Pritchett’s comment excited fans, the internet’s favorite Emmy award-winning corporate drama is HBO’s. Succession concludes with the long-awaited fourth season.

Emmy-winning actor Brian Coxwho has appeared in many iconic projects such as Braveheart, Deadwood, And Troyplayed his Succession character since 2018, when the series began, as multi-millionaire CEO Logan Roy. He said that while he is ready to say goodbye, he will miss the cast, crew and environment. He told the Variety“I will miss the cast, I will miss the atmosphere, I will miss the fun. Logan, I’ll probably miss a little bit. But up and beyond.”

Following the Season 3 theatrical finale in the Tuscan countryside, Roy’s troubled children Shiv (Sarah Snook), Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) will battle their father and each other for the throne of the media giant. However, while Cox praises the acting skills of the three names, he thinks Roy’s children are incapable of ascending the throne.

They would absolutely destroy it. It probably wouldn’t last more than five minutes in their hands. And yet that’s what he wanted. He wanted his successor. Four seasons to prove it! And they just haven’t proven it.”

Unlike Emmy Award-winning Jeremy Strong (The trial of the Chicago 7, The big short & The judge), who plays Kendal Roy, Cox is not a fan of method acting. When asked about Strong’s “Kendall is in pain, not me” statement that drew the line between the role and his life, Cox praised him, responding, “I’m glad he’s not in pain personally.” He’s a great actor. It really is a cultural clash. I don’t take all that American shit. I’m sorry. All that kind of “I think, therefore I feel.”

Cox blamed three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis (There will be blood, Phantom wire, Lincoln) for the method acting trend and said he had to retire early due to the harsh physical conditions of this acting style. He added that Strong was Lewis’ assistant and was inspired by him.

“Just do the job, don’t identify. He (Daniel Day-Lewis) retired at 55 and I say, ‘That’s when the roles get really interesting. You’re retired just when the reels are really getting better! Jeremy, of course, was Dan Day-Lewis’s assistant. So he learned all those things from Dan.”

Succession‘s fourth and final season premieres Sunday, March 26 on HBO.
