Justin Theroux seeks refuge in Guatemalan wilderness

Eli Fox (Justin Theroux) and his family seek temporary refuge from their enemies in the jungles of Guatemala in the Season 2 trailer for “The Mosquito Coast” on November 4.

The Apple TV+ drama begins after Fox — featuring genius inventor Allie, his wife Margot (Melissa George) and their two children (Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman) — narrowly escapes Mexico. Their next stop is a community of refugees led by one of Eli’s old friends. Though it seems like a solution, things again go into dangerous territory when they get caught up in a conflict between a local drug lord and his family.

The trailer begins with Allie making sure her family, “We’ve made it; Everything is going to be different from now on.” Despite the idyllic scenery and the newfound community, Margot isn’t convinced they’re safe: “You want us to build a house,” she tells her husband. “Even though we like it. do it or not.”

The rift between the husband and wife deepens as it becomes clear that danger looms large in every corner of their new home. Before long, Margot is forced to consider other options to ensure the safety of her children – even if it means working with her enemies behind Allie’s back, a move that will save them either or permanently destroyed.

Based on the novel by Paul Theroux, the second season of “The Mosquito Coast” is directed by Mark V. Olson and Will Schaefer, Stephen Schwartz, Evan Katz, Rupert Wyatt, Paul Theroux and Justin Theroux. Bob Buchman, Alan Gassmer and Peter Jayson serve as executive producers for Veritas Entertainment Group. The series is produced for television and executive produced by Neil Cross. Developed by Neil Krauss and Tom Bissell, “The Mosquito Coast” is a Fremantle production for Apple TV+.
