K-pop singer and actor Lee Jihan, 24, was among the victims of the Seoul Halloween crowd crush that killed more than 150 people.
Jihan’s death was confirmed by two of his agencies, which released joint statement to instagram,
“I am heartbroken to be greeted with the sad news. Actor Lee Jihan, a precious member of the family of 935 Entertainment and 9Eto Entertainment, has become a star in the sky and has left us,” the statement read.
The agencies remembered him as “a lovely and warm friend to all” who “shined beautifully with a fervent passion for acting.”
Lee Jihan appeared in 2017 in a South Korean singing competition from CJ E&M, “Produce 101”. Although he was not cast for the boy band, Wanna One, it helped launch his career. He starred in the 2019 TV series “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day”, in which he played the title character Shin Nam Hyun.
