Karishma Tanna reveals that people were skeptical about casting her; this is why Hansal Mehta didn’t step back [Exclusive]

Karishma Tanna shines, and how with her latest release Scoop, helmed by Hansal Mehta, which is based on real-life crime journalist Jigna Vohra, who spent more than 10 years on the trail of the death of a journalist J Dey conspired by gangster Chota Rajan. Many were stunned to see Karishma Tanna surpass her glamorous self and fit perfectly as Jagruti Pathak. Karishma proved her ability as an actor, and currently everyone is raving about her performance, but did you know that many indirectly told Hansal Mehta not to cast Karishma and told the filmmaker that they were not sure about her casting in the show? In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Life, Karishma spoke about the stereotype that people in the industry have about her, and she doesn’t blame them but will always be grateful to Hansal Mehta for believing in her. It didn’t take that long; I was only here for 10 years; it was the industry that lasted so long; I was ready for it 10 years ago; it just happens, and I won’t blame anyone because nobody wants to take the risk; ‘Jo dikhta hai, wahi log mann lete hai sach’; it is so, and I was stereotyped”. Hansal Mehta was warned about casting Karishma Tanna in Scoop.

Karishma further added, “It’s everyone’s standard, and so many directors have that standard, and they are afraid to explore and give a chance to the person who is very hungry for the role, so Mr. Hansal did that. The lord Hansal told me that many people were skeptical about my name, and he said it gave him more reasons to say yes to me because he wanted to challenge the world; he wanted to show people something that people didn’t believe in; and he believed in me, and I will be eternally grateful to him.”

After the super success of Scoop, Karishma is now waiting for a good female lead to challenge herself as an actor again and surprise the fans. “I would like to play a very meaningful role again that challenges me as an actor. I want to play a beautiful female patronizing role that challenges me.”
