Holocaust documentaries by Ken Burns, Steve McQueen and Helena Bonham Carter will be shown on the BBC later this month to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day. burns The United States and the Holocaust is part of a package of shows to be aired on BBC Four and iPlayer during the annual commemoration. A PBS original by Burns, Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein, the three-part series examines how the American people and their leaders responded to one of the greatest humanitarian catastrophes of the 20th century. Meanwhile, the Bonham told Carter Three minutes: an overtime from the Storyville strand sees three minutes of footage of a Polish ghetto, lengthened to tell the hidden stories behind it. The film was co-produced by McQueen, directed by Bianca Stiger, and filmed by David Kurtz. The BBC also commissioned its own Holocaust documentary – How the Holocaust began – tell the story of the first crucial act of the greatest crime in history.
Newen Connect Ups Leona Connell as Commercial Chief
Newen Connect, the distribution arm of Newen Studios, has promoted Leona Connell from EVP Distribution to Chief Commercial Officer. Connell, who lives between London and Paris, will focus on the international and French film and television markets and her new role arrives on the eve of French television screenings at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous. Connell joined Newen Connect in 2020 and currently leads the fiction and non-fiction sales team in France and internationally while supporting project financing and working on co-production partnerships and pre-sales. In her new role, she will lead a 20-strong sales team, the creation of the post following the integration of TF1 Studio’s international sales team into Newen Connect last year.
‘Nolly’ producer Quay Street Productions hires Mammoth Screen Exec

McMillon worked closely with Quay Street founder Nicola Shindler while he was commercial director of Scripted at Quat Street parent company ITV Studios, but more recently has been managing director of another drama indie company in the ITV stable , MammothScreen. Upcoming shows on Quay Street include the one penned by Russell T Davies NOllistarring Helena Bonham Carter, and Better halfthis is from Dana Fainaru and Hamish Wrightand stars Katherine Parkinson and Youssef Kerkour. Kashmir Files Creator Lines Up ‘Goodachari’ Sequel Shoot
The makers of Indian hits cashmere files, Main and Karthikeya 2 are ready to shoot an Indian spy thriller G2 (Gutachari 2). The Telugu film, which stars Adivi Sesh, was officially launched today at an event in Mumbai after significant press interest in the project over the past few weeks. People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts and AK Entertainments have teamed up for the film, which will be directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi. Shooting will take place in three European countries, one in the Middle East and three locations in India, with the film picking up where the first one left off in the Alps. A new cast is announced and the creators say it will focus more on a pan-Indian audience than its predecessor, which was played in the south of the country. Said Sesh G2 would be “fit” for viewers across the country.
