Kevin Bacon to Star in Prime Video’s ‘The Bondsman’ Horror Action Series from Blumhouse TV

Kevin Bacon has signed up for another horror role in Blumhouse’s “The Bondsman,” a straight-to-series order by Prime Video, according to a person with knowledge of the move.

The official logline states that the hub focuses on Halloran (Bacon), “a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, love and a nearly forgotten music career – only to lose his old job”. Now there’s a new diabolical twist to discover.”

Amazon has ordered eight half-hour episodes of the drama produced by Granger David, whose short film “The Chair” competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The start of series production is awaited as guild talks are yet to be resolved.

The casting of Bacon marks a return to working with both Prime Video and Blumhouse. He previously starred in Prime Video’s “I Love Dick” series opposite Kathryn Hahn as the lead character. Most recently, he directed the Blumhouse horror film “De/Them”, which is now streaming on Peacock, and also worked on “You Should Have Left” for Blumhouse.

Erik Olsson, showrunner for the second season of Amazon’s “Carnival Row,” will serve as showrunner and executive producer through his Crimethink production company, which has a deal with Prime Video. David, who wrote the screenplay, will also executive produce. Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gould and Chris Dickey will be executive producers for BlumhouseTV, along with Crimethink’s Paul Shapiro. Bacon will also executive produce in addition to starring.

Bacon’s other television roles include the Showtime series “City on a Hill” and “The Following” on Fox. His best-known film roles include “Footloose,” “Hollow Man,” “Mystic River,” “Apollo 13,” “Tremors,” “A Few Good Men,” and more. He is represented by MGMT, Viewpoint & Johnson, Shapiro, Slevet & Cooley.
