On Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Kimmel talked about several things during his monologue: National Voter Registration Day (which is today). He has a show in Brooklyn next week. Sidekick Guillermo’s road trip ahead of his week in New York. But of course he devoted some time to making fun of Republicans in general and Donald Trump in particular.
In this instance, Kimmel flashed a big smile at reports that Trump is currently having some beef with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Apparently (of course) it’s because Trump thinks DeSantis Stole Her Racist Publicity Stunt In which asylum seekers from South America were told lies and then deported to Massachusetts, as part of a failed attempt by liberals to expose some kind of non-existent hypocrisy on immigration. And speaking of it, Kimmel essentially tried to downplay the drama.
“Today, by the way, I hope you know, is ‘National Voter Registration Day.’ Voting, as you know, is one of the few rights that the Supreme Court has not yet taken away from women. And this It’s fun. I mean, not only do you make sure your own voice is heard, my favorite part is you get to nullify the votes of people you don’t like,” Kimmel kicked off the monologue. Said happened.
“There are a number of places you can register to vote — and make sure you’re registered to vote. One of them is headcount.org. You can go there and sign up now.” It’s important to vote. You know if you don’t, we could end up with a Senator Herschel Walker, right,” Kimmel continued.
He then joked that in response to the ‘vote out’ campaign run by Democrats in immigrant communities, “Republicans were like, ‘We agree on the ‘get out’ part!” Which turned into a Trump-DeSantis feud.
“Speaking of the get-out movement, Donald Trump is said to have been in a very Trumpy feud with one of his celebrity impersonations. You know, Florida Governor Ron DeSonstis and he tricked that plane full of Venezuelan families into flying it to Martha’s Vineyard? Kimmel said.
“Well, Trump is upset about this. Not because he cares about people, he’s upset because he thinks Ron DeSantis stole this idea from him. Can you imagine such disgusting creeps? Well, you’re crazy to get a disgusting creep out of someone too soon? It’s like taking credit for being the first person to put a pineapple on pizza,” Kimmel continued.
“But it can get ugly. Here’s another great idea Ronald took from Donald. He, Ronald, is giving his supporters, a gold card. If you give him $37 you get it. Hear that. I feel pretty much the same. Trump Gold Card,” Kimmel said.
“Which is accepted everywhere you don’t want to be. But still, I hope Trump doesn’t know about it. Because you know me, the last thing I want to do is talk about these two remarkable Starting trouble among the men,” Kimmel joked. “But, if someone steals my idea to sell the worthless gold rectangles to idiots – I’d be excessive … I’d go straight to the governor’s mansion and give him a little what-if, if you knew what. What do I mean!”
