Jimmy Kimmel was as baffled as you probably were by the bizarre interview Donald Trump gave to Sean Hannity on Wednesday night. In addition to the many lies Trump told during a softball chat about the raid at Mar-a-Lago last month, Trump’s claim that the US president can declare government documents “even thinking about it” .
Before we get into Kimmel’s comments, go here and be caught if you need some additional context about that interview. This is weird (and horribly wrong) stuff, folks.
So, Kimmel closed her monologue on Thursday by talking about all that. After showing a clip of the moment in question, he said incredulously, “Even thinking about it. Using the power of his mind, he can declassify documents. What he does is he puts a candle in the Egg McMuffin.” One makes a wish, blows it up, and the documents get declassified.”
“Hocus potus,” said Kimmel.
Kimmel even mocked Hannity for not saying anything. “Their approach is basically, ‘Show me on that doll where the FBI investigated you,'” Kimmel joked. But then he got back in it with Trump. Kimmel called him “like a Harry ho-dummy,” mocking Trump’s arguments.
“If Trump really had the power to change things just by thinking about him, Don Jr. would have turned into a Big Mac 30 years ago,” Kimmel said.
